Andy Shearer may not yet be well known, but busy mp3-collectors are missing an English jewel. Oscillating between 80's prog-rock, blues and modern indie-pop. artists such as Chris Rea maybe the godfathers of this music, and also sound-creators like Vangelis or Pink Floyd. The lion's share of this album is instrumental, and like a template for modern ballet, but the catchy melodies crawl into your ears as with sung hits. The real songs in this collection differ only in the use of voices and words that describe the mood of the music. but both the instrumentals and the songs come from the same heart.
It gets clear with listening, that Andy adopts a world music approach and doesn't want to follow just one genre or style. he sounds pleasing without getting superficial, electronic, without ticking off with hammering beats. He spreads a carpet of orchestral sounds, without sliding into bombast. this music comes authentically "from the heart", Although listeners will come to know Andy Shearer just by his music, they will recognise that here is a man who wants to be genuine with his music. Gentle and firm, modest and deep, dedicated to his inner world - an honest soul.
